While we continue to maintain our leadership position, the Government of Karnataka endeavors to promote the state as a global technology hub and a leader in new and emerging technologies.
AI would be good for the world provided the technology is used appropriately and this is where the government will have a role. The Government must allow the industry to try out AI based applications in an environment that is safe and secure. We need to create a sand box for the introduction of AI so that we don’t slow down progress, we must create the right regulations to retrain and educate our workforce. India has the opportunity as well as the responsibility to lead the world in AI. India is the third largest ecosystem for startups and it’s the startups that bring out new applications of technology in various industries.
To complement and enrich the conference themes, the 14th India Innovation Summit also featured an exhibition arena to provide experiential understanding of the real-world products of the new human/machine intelligence paradigm. The pavilions covered the diverse sectors of the industry that represented the macro and micro level of the India’s AI landscape and the potential for the global business growth.
This year, the conference also witnessed hands on experience on AI and Design Thinking. Domain experts from these spheres conducted workshops for the target audience and ensured an exposure to these technologies.
Another attraction of this year’s summit was the “Pitch Perfect” which saw CII Innovation Summit’s very own version of the popular reality show Shark Tank. In this, three startups were given an opportunity to pitch their innovations to a panel of three investors, providing them an opportunity to pitch for funding. After the discussions, the judges awarded them a grant to continue their production, with an option for investment after their initial launch.
